Martha Brae River Rafting

  • 2 hours
  • Easy

The Martha Brae rises in the Cockpit Country and runs out to the sea at Rock, just east of Falmouth. Rafting it is the quietest way to spend a morning in Trelawny: two people to a thirty-foot bamboo raft, a raft captain standing at the front with a long pole, and about an hour and a half of slow water between the banks.

The river is calm the whole way. There is nothing to climb and nothing to swim unless you want to, so it suits every age and every level of mobility. Bring a hat and something to drink.

The put-in at Rafters Village is roughly fifteen minutes from the villas by road.
